Project Overview

The refurbishment of Breheny Civil Engineering’s headquarters in Needham Market involved the comprehensive upgrade of the existing office block to create a modern, energy-efficient working environment for staff. The project included the supply and installation of new mechanical and electrical services, air conditioning systems and associated infrastructure throughout the building.

Working closely with the project team, Smith Brothers Stores (SBS) supplied a range of key mechanical building services products, including ball valves, press fittings and pipe support systems. These products formed an integral part of the M&E installation, helping to ensure a high-quality and reliable building services solution throughout the refurbished facility.

Delivering Value Through the CORE Range

A significant proportion of the products supplied to the project were sourced from SBS’s own-brand CORE range, including Pipe Support Systems and the new Press-fittings. Designed to provide contractors with a dependable combination of quality, performance and value, the CORE range offered a cost-effective solution without compromising on specification or reliability.

By utilising CORE products throughout the installation, the project team benefited from consistent product quality, simplified procurement and excellent availability, helping to maintain programme deadlines and installation efficiency. The use of SBS’s own-brand range also ensured full technical support and product confidence throughout the project lifecycle.

Supply Chain Support

Throughout the five-month programme, SBS provided a responsive and reliable supply chain service, supporting the contractor’s material requirements from project commencement through to completion. Extensive stock availability across the SBS network ensured products were readily accessible when required, helping minimise delays and maintain on-site productivity.

In addition to supplying larger scheduled deliveries, SBS provided next-day delivery services for urgent requirements and smaller orders, ensuring site teams had access to critical materials exactly when needed. This flexibility helped the project maintain momentum and avoid costly disruptions during key stages of the installation.

Collaborative Project Delivery

The project benefited from close collaboration between EPPH, Project Manager Luke Clark, Site Engineer Mark Dowd, installation teams and suppliers. Effective communication and coordination between all parties enabled the successful delivery of the refurbishment within the planned programme.

Upon completion, the refurbished headquarters provides Breheny Civil Engineering with a modern, comfortable and efficient office environment that supports both current operations and future growth.

Through a combination of quality products, the strength of the CORE range, reliable stockholding and industry-leading customer service, Smith Brothers Stores played an important role in the successful delivery of this office refurbishment project.
